Oil India Ltd - CIDC - “Employment Oriented Training and skill development Programme for SC/ST/OBC Women & EWS of Society under CSR initiatives”
Oil India Ltd. a Navratna Company, Government of India Enterprise under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, registered under the Companies Act and having its Field Headquarter and Registered office at Duliajan, Assam have joined hands with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) (the apex nodal body established by Planning Commission, Govt. of India and the Construction Industry) to provide Placement linked Skill development training programme in the construction industry where target beneficiaries will be from OIL operational areas or any other areas as indicated by OIL within India. An MOU was signed on 02nd December 2013 at field headquarter and Registered office of OIL at Duliajan, Assam.
The main objective of this programme is to Skill Training Placement of young people from OIL’s operational areas under CSR scheme. CIDC will train total number of 10000 candidates during next five years and in first phase during this financial year 2013-2014, 500 candidates to be trained & placed.
The Training to be provided in various construction trades namely Mason , Bar benders, Shuttering carpenter, Plumber, GWS, Electrician, Plumber, Welders, Land surveyor, Safety Inspector, Store Keeper, Site Accountant, Lab Technician.
The programme per batch is of 3 months duration and weekly performance and assessment tests are conducted followed by final examination. The certification is completed thereafter, and the trainee is given an opportunity to participate in the placement meets organized every month in CIDC. The age limit for the trainee is 18years to 35 years.
The training is being imparted at CIDC Training Centre at VKP Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Ramshapur (Sultanpur), Sidhauli (Sitapur), Phulnakhra (Cuttack) and Silchar (Assam).
In order to enable the trainees to develop the skills and prepare them for the intended job responsibility, rigorous ground work activities are being imparted at the site.
This structured training empowers the students with skill sets and knowledge about the specific trades, advancement of technology & makes them aware with recent trends and best practices in construction industry in a short period.
